The paper deals with the comparative analysis of colors and printing errors specific to securities papers like Romanian postal stamp, the issue "Spic de grâu". The presented methods are a novelty in the philatelic field, wanting to create a connection between the world of scientists and that of collectors. Most of the research conducted so far is based on the study of the colors of the stamps. At the same time, in this paper are analyzed the printing samples (essays).
